Jesse Solomon had a feeling something was going on long before the world found out. The Summer House star, 32, sat down with Andy Cohen on the Tuesday, April 21, episode of Watch What Happens Live and gave fans the most candid account yet of exactly when — and why — he started putting the pieces together about his costars Amanda Batula and West Wilson's secret romance.
And spoiler: it involved a brunch, a Miami dinner, and a surprise run-in at a bar that suddenly started making a lot more sense in hindsight.
Who's who
The denials that stung
Solomon made clear on WWHL that his suspicions hardened well before the couple went public — and that both Batula and Wilson looked him in the eye and denied anything was happening. "I had my suspicions, but I did not know until they made their joint statement," he told Cohen. "They both denied it to my face, multiple times."
Fellow WWHL guest Kristin Cavallari pressed him on when the doubts first crept in. His answer? "Late Feb into March." Solomon revealed that Batula eventually reached out to apologize — "Amanda then texted me apologizing, said 'Sorry that I lied to you'" — but that Wilson had not done the same. As a result, he said, "the trust is a little broken." It's a candid admission that cuts through the polished reality TV drama and gets to something genuinely personal: the hurt of being misled by people you consider friends.
The red flags, one by one
Solomon walked Cohen through the specific moments that gave him pause — each one small on its own, but telling when lined up together.
- The secret brunch. The men from the cast went to brunch as a group one day, but Wilson quietly slipped away afterward to have brunch with Batula alone. He didn't mention it to the group. "The boys went to brunch one day, and West went to brunch with Amanda after and didn't tell us he was going to brunch with her," Solomon recalled.
- The Miami dinner for two. In late February, when the whole cast was in Miami at the same time, Wilson and Batula went out to dinner together — without telling Solomon. "Originally, I was just, like, offended," he admitted. "But then it made sense later."
- The bar run-in. In March, Solomon and Batula's estranged husband, Kyle Cooke ran into Wilson and Batula together at a bar — an encounter that, in retrospect, added another layer to the growing picture.
- The flirting. Beyond the specific incidents, Solomon described a general atmosphere that felt off. "There was a lot of just, like, flirting," he said simply.
Ciara Miller was watching too
Solomon wasn't alone in his suspicions. He revealed that Wilson's ex, castmate Ciara Miller, 30 — who dated Wilson in the summer of 2023 before the two split in December of that year — had also been picking up on the same signals. Miller reportedly told Solomon directly: "Just wait for the reunion." It's a line that suggests Miller may have more to say when the cameras are rolling, and fans are already bracing for what that conversation will look like.
Did anything happen during filming?
The question hanging over all of this is whether Wilson and Batula's connection predates her separation from Kyle Cooke, which was announced on January 19, 2026. Cohen asked Solomon directly — and the castmate was careful with his words. "I really hope not, it's easy to look back now, and hindsight's 20/20, but I don't think that they were," he said, referring to whether anything happened during Season 10 filming last summer.
Wilson himself addressed the timeline question this week on his Show Me Something podcast, insisting that "everyone was single" when the relationship developed and pushing back on what he called the "thousand different theories on the internet." Solomon's reaction to that podcast appearance was pointed but measured: "I saw it. A for effort."
What the couple said
"We've shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what's developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care."

With the Summer House reunion on the horizon, this story is far from over. For now, Solomon seems to be processing it all with a mix of honesty, humor, and a healthy dose of reality TV wisdom — he knows better than anyone that in this world, the full story always comes out eventually.
