Santos Salazar, the boyfriend of influencer Brianna Olsen, was arrested on an attempted murder charge early Thursday, just weeks after the couple welcomed their first child together.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a reported domestic violence incident at an address belonging to Salazar and Olsen just after midnight on Thursday, Aug. 13. The investigation led to the arrest of an "adult male suspect" on a felony attempted murder charge, an LAPD spokesperson said. Salazar, 21, was booked into a Los Angeles jail around 4:45 a.m. that morning and is currently being held on $1 million bail, according to jail records.
The LAPD says its investigation "remains ongoing" and has declined to release further details, citing the need to "protect the integrity of the investigation."
Salazar and Olsen, who go by "Bri and Santos" online, are known to hundreds of thousands of followers for chronicling their relationship on Snapchat and TikTok. The pair welcomed a son, Sunday Ray, in July, sharing videos from the hospital at the time of his birth. Salazar also has a daughter from a previous relationship; he marked her third birthday with a TikTok tribute on Aug. 8, just days before his arrest, writing that he prays for her every day and adding a hashtag referencing parental alienation.
News of the arrest spread quickly after Olsen posted what appeared to be footage of the moment on her Snapchat account, showing a man being handcuffed and led from a residence. She wrote over the clip, "I'm so sorry guys…."
Olsen has continued posting updates since. "I've been talking to lawyers all day," she told followers, adding that she was hopeful Salazar would be released "around Monday when he sees the judge." She also shared photos from the couple's maternity shoot earlier this year while he remained in custody.
The arrest comes amid an already public chapter for Olsen, who shares her older son, Winter, with ex-partner and fellow creator John Giesey. The former couple have been open online about an ongoing custody dispute over Winter, a storyline that has played out across both of their social platforms.
